I wonder.... Have you ever wonder, the wonder of wonders?
(picture: courtesy of my cousin Dr Faisal)
I wonder why the grass is green,
And why the wind is never seen
Who taught the birds to build a nest,
And told the trees to take a rest?
And when the moon is not quite round,
Where can the missing bit be found?
Who lights the stars, when they blow out,
And makes the lightning flash about?
Who paints the rainbow in the sky,
And hangs the fluffy clouds so high?
Why is it now, do you suppose,
That Dad won’t tell me if he knows?

*I remembered reading this poem when I was about nine. Unfortunately it was the first four lines that I memorized. But not now, when you can easily 'google' and there it is...the whole page!
Hope my friends here will like it as much as I did then, and do now....
Lots of love,
Lili ....

A note to myself:
La Tahzan...la tahzan...la tahzan...
Feeling 'not very nice' for days now, I'm telling myself not to be sad.
In my contemplation, I recite this ayat as doa...
- So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers. (Ali Imran, 139)
(Jangan kamu lemah dan janganlah kamu bersedih hati padahal kamulah orang-orang yang paling tinggi [darjatnya] jika kamu orang yang beriman. Ameen.)

K.Lili,
I'm feeling that way too. tak tau kenapa, rasa sedih, malas nak update blog. what's happening in Japan, really struck me deep. I'm sad k.lili.. tulis ni pun rasa nak nangis, bergenang air mata. and I dunno why..
Kak Emily,
I hope the not so nice feeling will go away soon. Take care ye!
S Lili,
It'll be over soon..insyaAllah..:)
Thanks for sharing the doa anyway..
Akak,
Thanks for sharing the info. :)
Oops, terlupa nak kimeng yang ni...hehe..Akak jangan tak tau, orang Kemamang tu dah lama tak jenguk I kat sini taw! Kat DHW selalu selisih. ;'(
Orang Es Pee, tenggelam timbui. Yang Yu Es Jay tu jer consistent!
Shidah dear,
When I read your comment earlier on, I teared a bit too. That is why I did not reply all the comments here.
You can always talk to me if you need a comforting shoulder. I'm all ears, although at this point, I'm in the same mood as yours and I dunno why too!
The tsunami in Japan devastates sensitive people like us, it seems. I cried watching the news last evening just like the last time it happened here.
LG,
Thanks dear. I know this feeling will pass. ;)
ps: I love your new profile pic; you guys are cute! :D
RC,
Thanks, babe.
Insyaallah, it'll pass.
Lili
I wonder n I ponder ...
Dgn bencana alam kat Jepun dan setelah dengar topik kat AlKuliyah semalam ... I surrender. There's no god but Allah the AlMighty, subhanallah.
*I'm in a sombre mood too*
CS,
I'm always pondering until there's nothing to ponder! hikhik))
Yes, semalam Al-Kuliyah very insightful. (Penceramah pong very lively). And like you, I'm remorseful afterwards...

Cik Ja,

*buat muka serious pulak..
Memang banyak doa dalam Quran, kita jer yg lalai kadang2 tu...sebab kita golongan yang mengzalimi diri sendiri. Kan? Nauzubillah.
ppl cry when a tragedy hits a place, but do we cry when we see others defy God? when it is almost certain that bad things happen only to remind us of Him.
do u cry when u see a japanese die without iman? well, u should.
a tsunami would only hurt him by at most a decade. he could rebuild his home, fix the nuclear reactor etc. in the end, things could be okay again.
on the other hand, dying without iman might put that person in absolute pain for *all* eternity. we both know this, but what are we doing about it? which part of eternity did we miss in our no sense of urgency?
20:74 (Malay) Sesungguhnya barang siapa datang kepada Tuhannya dalam keadaan berdosa, maka sesungguhnya baginya neraka Jahanam. Ia tidak mati di dalamnya dan tidak (pula) hidup.
