Of Breakfast, Lunch...and...Ducks?

Lama ye tak citer bab makan-makan. Bukan I tak masak...hari-hari @nowmememasak.
Don't get it? Now Me memasak....ekekeke! Alaa...macam kat twitter tu...hiks!
Okay...tak nak citer panjang-panjang, nanti melalut pulak.
So, let's check my breakfast this morning. Mode: tengah rajin ni...breakfast on a week day pun mememasak tau. ;)
You all tau ke apa ni?
Inilah Nasi Lemuni...lagi sedap dari nasi lemak.
I dah memang teringin nak makan ni...daun lemuni dah lama petik from my friend's lemuni tree.
Tapi duk terperuk dalam fridge for some time now...
FYI, daun lemuni ni, kalau kita simpan berapa lama pun, ia tetap tahan.
So, meaning, lemuni ni has all the awet muda properties.
And, ehem, I have been eating this since I was ten!
This time around, I makan nasi lemuni dengan sambal ikan kayu/aya.
Just masak nasi ni macam nasi lemak biasa..letak halba, lada hitam,
bawang merah/kecil dan halia yang dihiris.
Mmmm...as I'm writing this, masih terasa lagi pahit-pahit sedap nasi ni!

Semalam I masak lunch yang paling simple...sebab tu, hari ni masak nasi lemuni. Mana tahan weh, tak makan nasi sehari. At least one meal makan nasi. Tak gemuk weh, kalo makan nasi...bukannye kita makan sampai semangkuk nasi tambah tu. Makan ala kadar. je..hehehe!
My lunch yesterday:

Bihun sup...with minced meat and sweet radish toppings.
My soup base this time was the ordinary sup tulang.
The recipe calls for cili padi potong in soy sauce,
but I'm so used to eating noodles soup with sambal kicap for condiments. :D
Bihun sup for dinner too! I don't mind noodles day in, day out!

And, look what I found at the back lane of my house yesterday afternoon....

Itik gembo-gembo! Peking duck, anyone? erkkk ;p

Updated:
For those who would wondering how lemuni leaves look like...hee hee hee hee...(the laughs of Michael Douglas in The War of the Roses...hehe...I'm watching while updating this!!) ;)

Zarin,

Nasi lemuni memang staple kat utara ni. (See gambar yg I baru updated!)
Macam nasi lemak jugak..sedap tau! Pucuk lemuni ni boleh buat ulam. Campur dengan ulam2 lain boleh jadi bahan nasi ulam. Sangat syiok! hehe!

Akak,

So, when was the last time you makan nasi lemuni? I ken..dalam tahun ni saje dah tiga kali makan yang beli punya...tapi tak sesedap homemade ken? Hari ni kira I membalas dendam! hahaha))

At last... now I know how the daun lemuni looks like. A friend of mine who had stayed in Penang for many years, told me of this nasi lemuni. Sedap sangat, katanya.

Now... bila lah agaknya dapat pi Penang lagi nak cuba try makan ni...

Oldstock,

Hehe...kena datang Penang or Ipoh baru boleh makan nasi ni! Really, it is sedap sangat. ;)

Lili said...

CS,

Ye, boleh...sebut je bila you nak makan, I akan poslajukan bunches of this leaves. Lepas tu, you masak ek! ;)

psst...tetibe jer terasa 'omei-omei'!

kak lili
i pun sokong CS hikhik
harus di pos laju jugak those leaves tu.. ada rasa mcm daun putat ke?

Lili said...

Hahaha Zarin ni! Kak Som tu nak nasi lemuni siap masak dah!

BTW, kat KL dan sewaktu dengannya takde ke pokok ni? Harus ada....sebab I biasa nampak kat Kajang.

Pucuk putat rasa lemak2, lemuni ni a bit pahit tapi tolerable...(lupa perkataaan Melayu for this hehe!). Bila dah blend daun ni dan masak nasi lemak, memang tak pahit langsung. To me lah, at least! :D

Alamak saya belum lunch lagi.. nak kena rush balik kerumah.. lapar gila bila terbaca betapa sedapnya your nasi lemuni..
Nanti Yoh Wang share this post with Mok Wang.. mana tahu tetiba Mok Wang memasak nasi lemuni ;))
P.s. We have a lot of putat trees in Dungun.. ada resepi nasi putat ke? ;))

Lili said...

Ayoh Wang,

What kept you from taking lunch? Haha! Well, I'm sure Mok Wang knows how to make this. Simple aje, just masukkan daun lemuni yang dah diblend.

My version of nasi putat would be piping hot nasi putih, pucuk putat and sambal nyiur! Goreng pulak ikanG pekasam...hui, memang tak terkata! Hehe

Ja,
