As Time Goes By (2)

Assalamualaikum

I don't want to make anymore promises. I don't keep them. But certain promises I give due consideration in marking my words.

I get up every morning for the past two weeks, after saying my grace to the Almighty, wondering what really happened to the rights that I have put into my wrongs, and the wrong that I sorely missed as I badly want it to be right. This is, about all the promises I want to fulfill.

Thus is life. As I retrospect, I thank God, I'm able to see the journey of my life and where it has taken me. A dear friend once told me, our life is like running a 100-metre track hurdles. You already know your aim. You tackled the hurdles painstakingly. You wanted to make it through till the finishing line...You're already on the right path. But somehow at one point, you got distracted, and suddenly your track swayed. And getting back, oh boy, is really painful. You lost your focus already. Sadly, the finishing line has no certainties. You may die before reaching it unless you give another shot and overcome your hurdles. Perhaps, this is the time to take the chance again.

This morning was a different story. My heart ached at the thoughts of my dearly departed families and friends. I miss them.

I leave you all for now with my old post which was written a few years back.
So...it's #throwback time#no idea time!!# ;-)

Stories for the Raya...3
September 3rd 2011 - Fifth Raya

...I was already back home and looking forward to a wedding in Taiping.
One week before raya, while on my way to the island, the bride-to-be called me. Strange but true, earlier that morning, I visualized the scenario of her wedding...where relatives gathered...and while trying to look happy for the bride it would actually be tears shed silently at the thought of this girl who would be beaming if only her mother was around. I had thought of not attending the wedding since the day I received the invites...but with Nabila's call, I decided otherwise. I just can't disappoint my niece. At least I'm doing it in remembering her mother...

Her mother, Nyah, was my late first cousin.. I have fond memories of her. Nyah, in Perak, means the second eldest sister. She was really my big sister than she was a cousin. That is the way our big family operates...cousins are practically siblings. But Nyah and I, shared the same passion. We loved to cook and bake. Every year, when raya approached...(oh dear, I feel awkward to mention her in past tense...) she would call me and ask about my cakes. I think of all the cousins, we were the most communicating ones. As always, our conversations were filled with funny banters. And coming from an English Language teacher, it was hilarious when she 'Manglish-ed'!

Over the years, news got to me that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Everyone was devastated. I did not get to visit her until she was re-admitted to undergo a mastectomy. After many treatment, her cancer was on remission and her life was back to normal. In April 2004, my father passed on. She was with us during our trying times and really, it felt so good to see a lot of her. The following months, just before Raya, another news shocked us when the cancer relapsed. It had spread to her vital organs. But she was a fighter. During Raya that year, I still could not find time to visit her. I tried calling her but every time I dialled her number, I cry buckets already thus abandoning my intention that so much so, I never got to speak to her at all.

It was destined actually when another cousin took my mother along with MyC and my niece, Nadiah, to beraya at her house in Taiping. I did not go because my elder sister was sick and I kept her company. When my mother and the children came back later that evening, MyC came to me with a message form Nyah... I was clueless when MyC rushed to hug me tightly. But when she conveyed all the words Nyah had for me, it all made sense afterwards. Nyah had this to say: Balik nanti, peluk mummy untuk Wan Nyah macam ni...bagitau mummy, Wan Nyah mintak ampun dan maaf. Halalkan makan minum Wan Nyah...Wan Nyah sayang mummy. With those words, I broke down like a bursting dam. Still, I wasn't ready to see her. Not in her very bad condition.

One late March 2005 saw me picking up my courage to visit her. By then her condition deteriorated and she was given a quality life in the comfort of her younger brother's house in KL. This means, I had to travel further down than a mere half an hour to Taiping. See, what procrastination can do to you. Okay, I wasn't procrastinating...but I was scared...

I travelled to KL with my youngest sister and a brother. We were advised to appear calm before her. When I reached my cousin, Shazalli's house, he was already waiting for us. I went inside and greeted my aunt first who by now, on seeing us started to cry. She cries easily...no wonder anak saudara dia ni cengeng! I entered Nyah's room which had an atmosphere of a hospital ward. After all, Nyah's youngest sister is a doctor. I scrutinized the room. There were bouquet of flowers and numerous cards adorned the dresser...testimony that Nyah was much loved by her friends and students.

I saw her looking all frail and weak, lying, with an IV drip attached
to her, and an oxygen tank nearby her bed. She managed a weak smile but I knew she was mustering her utmost energy to appear strong before us. One look at her I knew she was drifting away fast...but only God knows when. I reached for her hands, kissed them a few times before I sank my face into her cheeks and kissed her forehead, and holding back my tears very hard. Inside, I was screaming with sadness but I kept my cool like I was told. I felt a lump in my throat when I whispered into her right ear, "Nyah, I'm here..and I love you so much. You're my kakak dunia dan akhirat...." She smiled and nodded her head slightly, squeezing my hands too. With that, my eyes filled.... Sometimes, some questions had to be stupid and I asked her, "sakit, Nyah....?" She closed her eyes this time and again nodding her head. I held her hands until she fell back to sleep.
We stayed until nightfall that day. Before we left, I went back to her room to bid her goodbye but she was heavily sedated and slept tight.

A week after my visit, my beautiful Nyah, passed away peacefully, a day after my late father's first anniversary. She was survived by her parents and siblings. But her husband did not make it in time. Always at funeral, the cousins re-united again. Yes...all the cousins in KL. No matter how busy they were, but for the last time for Nyah, they came. I heard they were all there, including my ever busy brother. Nyah's body was brought back to her house in Taiping. This allowed most of our relatives in Perak to attend her funeral.

I was there too...sitting by her bed again. Only this time Nyah did not respond to my whisper...
Al-Fatihah.

At Bila's wedding, my aunt did it again....

Bye bye for now ;-)

 Lots of love,
Lili ;-)

New Year Ramblings

Almost two months of the new year has passed, and here I am neglecting my blog to the point that I don't quite remember if i ever had a blog. Lame.
But let me start my post by reminiscing the year 2013.

2013 ended with a sad note for me and my entire family. My beloved mother, passed on on Christmas Day. It was a very sad sad day for me as I have been taking care of her since she was hospitalised and brought her home after eleven days there. But I have matters to attend to that very week she was to leave us. I went back home to submit my travelling documents due in February 2014. Later that holiday evening, news came in from my nieces who took turns taking care of their grandma, telling me, she was gone after a fall while performing her Isya' prayers. Ya Allah, haramkan neraka buat bondaku..hanya Jannah buatnya...I thought I hear myself uttering the 'doa'.

Early 2014 saw me busy with my preparation for my 'Umrah'. Hubby and I travelled a lot to KL to be with MyC and bringing her back home after her exams and getting her documents ready for the pilgrim trip too. It was hectic but meaningful all the same.

By the way, I just got back from Makkah last week. It was a blessing to be able to perform my umrah even when I was sick. I did not adapt well to Madinah's cold weather; plus the travelling made me weaker when I reached Makkah. Alhamdulillah...

*yours truly on her ziarah wada' of Masjid Nabawi.

Ok...that's all for now. I'll be writing again in the near future but don't ask me when...hehehe.. Perhaps when the urge to write haunts me day and night. Sometimes I just had nightmares of publishing new entries but found none when I wake up. Cute, huh?

Oh, I miss you guys out there!

Lots of love,
Lili ;-)

Finders, Keepers and Losers

It has been exactly one year since I last promised to write again. Well, I have a life so blissful that writing is manageable only in my head. Ok, I lied. So what if I say, I can't write anymore... It's something of the past like many other things we used to enjoy to do, and later in life we indulge in new things we found.

Like the long lost friendship.

That too has become mundane over time. We thought we know them. The ones we shared our stories and laughters and tears. One moment it is still intact. And in another, we come to question the present. That is why they termed it "long lost". You just lost the easy friendship after a long hiatus. We are strangers all over again like the first time we met...enrolling into a new school, allotting ourselves to the rooms we were to share for the next two years or perhaps four if we were lucky enough to stay put till the upper forms. Only this time we are too old to start sharing anything again.

But someone knocked some senses in me yesterday. A reminder so severely sore that it turned out to heal this repentant blogger so admiringly.

Oh, did I miss blogging?
Very, very much!

Lots of love,
Lili ;-)

Apakah...? ;-)

Achoooo3X!! Alhamdulillah....tu dia terbersin tiga kali masuk sini.... Apsal la rumah sebegini santek dibiarkan bersawang? Ish ish ish ish...sapalah tuan punye rumah ni? Kok ye pung banyak rumah, jangan ler sampai tak berjenguk rumah yang kononnya, once upon a time, where the heart dwells... ekekeke! Dulu, katanya, kalo tak masuk sejam dua sekali boleh meroyan. Rupanye, dalam tak masuk jenguk jengoi intai bagai, lagi bertambah meroyan...*perghhh...

Takpelah, bagi masa sikit kat tuan tanah tak berbayar cukai ni rehat selama mana dia larat. Biar kembang sana sini. Biar berisi tak lagi macam lidi. Biar lena selama suka dibuai mimpi. Bila tiba detik dan ketika nanti, datanglah ia menyemai budi setahun segunung intan...*perghh lagi!

Weh....apa I tulis ni?

Oooo...I miss blogging!

The Longest Word With Only One Vowel!

The other day during dinner, there was only MyC and me eating our nasi lemak quietly. Always, at times like this, the silence just killed me. My seemingly cool attitude finally faltered when I looked up at MyC and suddenly blurted a taboo question.

Me: Girl...are you ok about Shah Alam?
MyC: *shaking her head* Noooooo....
Me: Mummy too...

And a Kleenex moment ensued. We both cried. Giggled...then cried. Giggled and cried. But nasi lemak tasted even yummeh, so, we ate!

I know, we're a silly mother and daughter bunch but we can't help contained our brief (I hope), sadness when MyC has made up her mind to further her studies in UiTM Shah Alam. We were at first elated when she got a place in KM Pulau Pinang which was, like, ten minutes away from our house. So now it is about time for MyC to be on her own. Six years ago, she was an eager student to do things her way when she enrolled in MRSM Langkawi only to back out when her home-sickness was over-whelming. She lasted only two-weeks there and returned to her old day-school. And from that day onwards we are inseparable. I waited for her on everything and watched her grow before my eyes...

This time, it will be different. This is her calling and she has to be ready...er...mummy too.

Now...if there's anything I needed the most and lots, then it has to be STRENGTHS!

Have a nice weekend, you all!

Lots of love,
Lili

After All These Years...

Today, many years ago, marked a new chapter in my life. I got married...hiks!

Alhamdulillah...I never thought I could make it this far. I know, I have not been the wife he expected me to be although many times, without asking, he seems to read my mind and tell me that I am the best thing that has ever happened to him. I laugh to that a lot! And I still laugh (but believe in him, anyway!) when he says I am beautiful, and goodness, even when I'm a mess at times. He compliments me not when I look exquisite from the moment I step out of my room with my casual attire of blouse and jeans, and hair all tied back in a pony tail. But it had to be that moment when I'm caught off-guard especially when he finds me poring over a book, or writing this blog...hikhikhik..when the messy me is so obvious with my hair flying everywhere to the fan's movement; and the disheveled me is suddenly far interesting than the immaculate one!

But...I hurt him a lot.
Looking back, I can't help but wishing things would be different then. At least for me. He, I think, is happy to be married to someone he pursued so hard. That someone is still me.

Happy Anniversary to myself and my other half ;-)

Ramblings...

Hi guys! I'm back again but don't know how long I'd stay...

Almost every weekends saw me attending weddings and assisting in overseeing the smooth sailing of a few ones. This has been going on since early of the year. Yesterday, and the past three days, was no exception especially when it was a third cousin's - distant but close enough - wedding. All week long I shuttled from my house to my aunt's helping in whenever possible. And today I can sit back and relax and doing things I love doing like writing again..hiks

This not-so-quiet afternoon - well, parts of the house is under renovation...and with the banging and drilling of the walls could drive me insane for awhile...hehe - I find myself a little bit emotional (yeah right, like I'm not always there!) when I realise I had forgotten that one important date last week when I was really busy. Maybe the date escape me but the thoughts has never left me...everyday. May Allah bless Bapak's soul and place him amongst the righteous. There are days when I long for his consoling words when my world is falling apart. The same old line plays inside my head..."if only Bapak was here..." . And today it has to be..." I feel like crying..if only Bapak was here..I'd turn to him and bother him with my nagging headache.." Yes, the smallest of things even, has to be reported to Bapak!  I could almost hear Bapak says, " Laa...ingatkan apa...But ok..I'm coming now...". Like the old days, he used to put up for a few nights at my house whenever I complained about being sick and that I was sad for nothing. That was the least he could do for us...all four girls of his. Still his babies even though we have families of our own. And when we lost kak Nyah, he was the most affected. The daughter he loved so much was gone and many times on kak Nyah funeral, he whispered in her ears as if she heard him: tunggu Bapak di sana...
Al-Fatihah to both of them.

Oh, did I digress? I hope not. Oh, really...I am sorry, I have been rambling again. But I miss Bapak so much.

Please excuse me, guys..while I cry...

Just Passing By....Again?

It has been a long time. I know. A blogger who used to write frequently and now realizing she needs to clear her mind, goes into hiding only to find herself in deeper water in a place called 'old times'.

But I'm missing this place like I have always been missing before every time I take a long leave from writing. There is something about this place. Nostalgic is one. I'm thinking of looking ahead instead of looking back but the old times seems to dominate my mind. Old times and old friends.

Everything here has portrayed the wrong side of me. I'm looking for myself..still. Where has that cheerful girl gone to?

I. want. her. back.
Please. tell. me. do. you. want. her. back?

MyC and Me

With MyC out of school, my life has somewhat returned to a full swing of that not-so-normal-life routine. Some mornings I simply throw myself back in bed, snugly under the covers until my head becomes heavy with over-sleeping. Sometimes it is back to that morning person with hot brewing coffee to start my day with. Always the chirpy me when I have company some more, or it could be those staring into emptiness episodes when no one's around. But life has certainly treated me well.

MyC, in one of our many shopping trips together...and she is
one serious buyer...

Almost one whole long year that 2011 was. I have been cooping indoors a lot when the exam year began. MyC refused to go out even on weekends that it grew inside her to this day, to stay at home rather than ushering the new day outside the perimeter of our house. Unless of course, if her peers come a calling or they have places to go.

December saw us leaving the house more often than we could have planned. There were always weddings to attend, movies to watch (though I strongly am against this!) and family gatherings to look forward to and of course, shopping, shopping and more shopping. And I declare myself broke each time I hoard something on the impulse. Getting reimbursement from hubby dearest is quite a task...hehe....claiming half of what you had paid is plain stupid. No wonder my account tak tally langsung...ekekeke!

And then, there is plenty of eating to indulge. Stuffing myself silly until my jeans stays nicely around the waist when other times last year it was always dropping down my hips. Then again, they wouldn't call it drop-hips for nothing, no? But I digress.
Some company I have here with MyC is all about eating at the wrong time. Breakfast becomes brunch and hi-tea treated as dinner. Midnight snacks that has been omitted from my vocabulary a long time ago, now befits our routine. But, every time I gloat about my eating habit and chances of putting on weight, my system just proves otherwise by flushing down everything that I've consumed when some choice of food does not meet its approval And my wasted self lay ruefully till the pink of health comes around.

January has just kicked off for me. I find myself a lot to love about KL. I was there a few weeks ago and was back again last week. Days like these, alone in the house, I long for my family's company again. Only now, it is all convenient because what I have to do is just nudge MyC and off we go to anywhere our hearts desire. Like I said before, if it is family, it is always the best party in the world!

Have a nice weekend, guys!

Lots of love,
Lili...

"The Girl With The Curls"

Dear friends and gentle readers,

What you are about to read here is an email from an old friend, which I received a while ago. The only old friend who came to know about my blog! I thought, some write-ups that as good as this, worth a mention in my blog, and with his permission, I am sharing it with you guys here. I must say, what has been portrayed about me, flattered me in a way. But then again, it is from a point of view of a person whom I thought I would never crossed path again.

In honouring my friend, Z, request, his write-ups will be at it is. No editing and correcting is allowed. And to you, Z...thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Friends forever,
Wan

The Girl With The Curls

And her name is Emily. I would have gotten to know about her more, but fate was an envious beast that spared me not the chance. It was later in our twilight years when we crossed path again and renewed our friendship in the most bizarre way. There she was, still a girl so shy, modest and reserved..demure..

Emily as I have known from our past, is a perfect doll. who keeps her emotions to herself. Dwelling partly between the fantasy of her world and the world that you and I exists. Hers is a world of perfection, fills with love, sincerity, romance and beauty. A place where only a few have the privilage of going and she often return as a person who lights up others and brings joy to everyone around her.. resembling one famous icon of yesteryear, she is but like a candle in the wind.

Emily is best portrayed as a girl on a swing, in colourful floral dress, under an oak tree across an open green field of tall grasses and scattered yellow daffodils. Her curls glistening in the sun and swaying gently from the brushes of the afternoon wind. Her mind is always fills with hopes of a better tomorrow and the yearn for the lost yesterdays.

Emily, is gentle and kindhearted creature. Longing for love and desperate for attention from those who loved her. A potrayal so deceiving yet tells so much. Always a little girl that tries so hard to escape the clutches of womanhood and responsibilities. Enduring so much and yet strong enough to abstain the feeling of loneliness that binds her. Friends, they be around, but the loneliness of her heart, one can never fill. And often her moods are depicted by what the day brings.

Emily, the girl with the curls, whom I finally come to know, who gives me hope and tenderness, inspirations and guidance from the obscurity of her own prison.

Thank you to my Princess of Dreams and Hopes..

..for I will always cherish those times with you..

"Sipi-sipi" Entry, No More!

My recent 'sipi-sipi' posting was not intended. On that fine Wednesday, when I was mending my cold in bed, I had this urge to check on my blog-roll and to blog-hop. Then it occurred to me, why not I update mine instead? But ideas were looming somewhere but here, so I resorted to use the pictures I took while on my way home from 'everywhere'..breaking my trip in Ipoh and rushing right after Subuh prayer just to be in time for a friend's farewell do. I did not make it, though. I was damn tired and sleepy from the travelling from weekend to weekend.

The 'sipi-sipi' posting also carries a message... It's a telling that I'm still around, insyaAllah...and Alhamdulillah... and masyAllah, I would have never dreamt whatsoever, of adopting 'invisible' as my middle name. Well, some folks do and find it pretty cool...yeah, pretty pathetic, actually.

Anyway...

The whole house looked drab as I stepped inside. Three consecutive weekends being away from home and a thousand and one things to settle in between the weekdays, had had me neglected this cozy abode. A place I normally find so hard to be apart suddenly come easy as December 'dragged' me everywhere. Suddenly, the need to liberate this ever funny feelings within, and most of all when I just "have had it up to here" *flailing my hands in the air and levelling one upon my nose macam ler korang nampak!* A gesture, meaning, 'I'm suffocating'! That left me with one choice; and travel, was the choice and be part of my big family company wherever they congregated. And it was all in December...

December 2011. December, no matter what year it was, it had to be the same. December, they say, is a depressing month. But I took my misery away from all that December has to be. Again, I hate to elaborate... At last, December brought me closer to me and I made peace with myself.

Home again from all the hectic schedules is a bliss. I can now sit back and relax. The house is cheery macam tuan dia. The kitchen wafts with endless aromas of home-cooked meals, again. And life has never been better.

O oh...but there's something missing...

I miss sending MyC to school!

Finding Words On The First Wednesday 2012...

...is still not easy. But this void must be filled even if it's for a short while.

The clouds over Kuala Kangsar at 7.20am
on my home from 'everywhere'...

Hoping for a ray of sunlight as morning breaks...
but low visibility greets us in misty Taiping at 7.30am

And I miss this place. Here.

Reminiscing...

Going through my old postings from my old blog, I decided to pick one for my new entry and this one entitled "Whose Way It Is, Anyway?" seems perfect for the time being. Perfect, in a sense that it simply speaks for myself without the need of lengthy write-ups which was melancholic then and...has becoming melancholic lately. But of course, there was a reason before and, are even more now. And as my favourite line goes, "I hate to elaborate...hiks!"  ;-)

So I hope all of you, reading this blog, will enjoy this classic number rendered so beautifully by my favourite singer, RW.

~ I loved, I laughed and cried
I've had my filled, my share of losing
And now as tears subside, I find it all so amusing...
To think I did all that,
And may I say - Not in a shy way,
Oh no, oh no not me
I did it my way...

For what a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels,
The record shows, I took the blows
And did it my way... ~

Thank you, all, for everything.

Lots of love,
Lili

Ranting on Eleven, Eleven, Eleven

Sometimes I likened myself to a weather girl! Each passing day with each passing weather, I am all into it. I take mental notes of the changes in my surroundings and play along with my moods afterwards. These two days see the skies in beautiful hues of blue. Thanks to the bright sunny day. I see the foliage fully green..in fact greener than it used to be. All the blessed rains we had had for the past weeks has put life to everything. But then again, being me...looking outside the window, a surge of sadness sets in when I cast my view on the awfully quiet park. With this lovely weather, driving to the seaside is apt as it takes my mysterious sadness away...hiks! ;-)

I was driving everywhere this morning when I remembered today's date. I know everyone is excited about this date though not all really have the reasons to mark the 11-11-11 as their special day. But I see this date as numbers in itself....and a special person who loved the number ONE.

That special person was my late brother-in-law. How shall I put this? I really want to say he was 'obsessed' with that number, but to term it an obsession would be over-rated. Anyway, I was only a school-girl when I heard about him going steady with my big sister (also deceased, now). I knew people were talking about him being the eligible bachelor with passion for fast cars and the number 17, denoting his birth date. Oh yeah...he was a Cancerian like moi..hehehe! TCLSS, when he married my sister, it was on a 17th January, and everything from then on seemed to be in seventeens but of course, not their babies! But soon he changed his interest when registering for a new car. I presumed, being a married man his attention was on his one and only, my sis!
So over the years his cars bore those number ones: from a double 1, to triple 1 and the last being 1111. Among my siblings, I was the lucky wan when come my wedding day, he offered to drive the newly-weds, ehem..hubby and I lah tu, in his new car bearing the plate: P*M 111, for the majlis bertandang at hubby's kampung. Weeeeheeee)) Well, itu aje citernye...and to think I have quoted so many 'ones' in my posting today...Hahaha!!

I wish I could write some more about my b-i-l, but I can't do it anymore. It is so painful to recall the tragic incident that took his life. You can read about it HERE.  Al-Fatihah buat daddy.

And as for today, I reckon, this beautiful sunshine is gonna stay if only...

Aidil Adha...

Salam everyone...
I'm tired and sleepy tapi nak menulis jugak. Yelah, dah nak tiga hari Raya Korban, and I'm busy as usual even though I did not travel back to my hometown, Ipoh. MyC has been busy too going through her preparation for her exam in a weeks' time; so, I don't see the need to spend Raya with my mother & Co. this time. Still we celebrated in all the merriment of a festival observed albeit low-keyed. MyC, for one is happy when her papa bought her this:

Hehehee)) The only Raya dessert for us from that Recipe Rahsia!

This year's Raya Haji, when I'm not cooking for my mother, the menu I planned is not that elaborate...

Breakfast of ketupat palas berjagung and rendang dinding.
Masa ni dah siap masak Ayam masak merah..
nasi tomato pun dah siap tapi belum nak makan lagi...

 Simple aje kali ni...

I wasn't expecting any visitors this time, so I left for my aunt's house to have lunch with her. I packed some of my home-cooked dishes for Wan Intan as we always do for many years when arwah PahChu was around. And hey, what do you know when I got to her place? The same lunch spread I would get at home only hers was made merrier with many people joining in. Wan Intan's cousins came too and we had a blast of time. Let's check her table!
Nasi tomato, ayam masak merah, stir-fried mixed vegetables,
ketupat, nasi himpit, rendang ayam, kuah kacang...

We cleared the table to make way for my cousin Anje's desserts of
Marble Orange cake (in the background), pudding and....
Red Velvet Cake...
Anje was not satisfied with her RV, but I convinced her it was the best I ever tasted
and she said, 'kak Lili you're so positive! But I'm not going to eat anything now. I'm so frustrated!'
Hahaha! I saw her tucking in my food in the kitchen...
By the way, Anje just came back from England for good and she loves baking. She told me
the flour she used in England is of better quality and that explained the dense RV.
I can only laugh...

Azlin, Anje's elder sister, in action...

All in all, one whole day of non-stop raining and eating, and in the company of wonderful people,
I can only say this: because it's family, it is the best party in the world! ;-)

At 3pm, I see myself at my dining table and EAT again!
Well, I blame the rain..hehe!

Bye for now...

Hungry Sokmo!

When it's raining cats and dogs (and monkeys!...haha... only Kak Zen does it best!) every afternoon, my appetite is becoming big. Every time I try to get some sleeps, only pictures of food dancing before my supposedly shut eyes and the mind starts making up ridiculous monologues forcing me out of bed. As always, I am deprived again of that precious sleeps I badly needed.
And to the kitchen my head said, 'Go!'

Mee Kuah...this time tak cheating ;)
macam yang...HERE

 Ready to dig in...

 Sharing between MyC and mee...er...ME!

Tata! ;-)

November Project? Hiks!

So much to write about this morning. But after writing and editing one piece to another, I simply discard all as nothing makes sense even for my own perusing. Another side of me that you might find boring: of being fickle-minded and uncertain most times. However, as I already promised CS to blog about my making karipaps yesterday, that gives me some sense and sensibility, hahahaha, to blog about! Okay, sit back and have some curry puffs yourself and read on...

Al-kisahnya, I dah lama tau tak buat karipap pusing ni. The last time being three years ago. Eh, sowi, ter-JohnnyEnglish pulak! Dulu-dulu memang selalu buat untuk kawan-kawan sahaja yang ada jamuan kat rumah derang. So, sekilo dua tepung sekali hadap, I boleh tahan, beb. Semalam, was different. Baru buat sikit...warm-up warm-up gitu kekdahnya, dah nak patah riuk badan I yang kiut miut ni. I told myself...cewah...nampak sangat dah kertu!
I know, I know...age is catching up tapi hati duk macam tu gak! Meh gelak sama-sama, meh. Huahuahuahuahua))) *kasi echo sikit*

Anyway, TCTLSS, I pun beriyalah buat 'kuripaps'. Kak Som dah pesan, 'kalau buat, you letak dalam blog'  Well, kander Som, ni I letak step by step lagi and it's gonna be a long entry!

Petang semalam lepas aje Asar, hujan seperti biasa mencurah-curah. I thought, what a good time to buat karipap. Dah masak inti bagai, I nak buat pastry and it happened. OMG! Lili dah luFA sukatan! Dah lama tak jadi blur since September 14th 2011...oops...tetibe masa nak bancuh tepung, itu Lili boleh jadi BLUR! Panic room sekejapans...lepas tu terus capai fon, called kak Mimi, my sifu kuih muih. Phew! And I told myself sekali lagi...yes...pandai you all teka...dah kertu! Makanya, gigih ler Cik Lili membuat karipap dari pukul 6 petang, membawa ke Maghrib. Berhenti sambung, berhenti sambung sampai pukul 9 malam. And then, you know what I said to hubby? 'Tobat, tak nak buat lagi!' You know what he replied? "Ye, I believe you, you TAU BUAT!" ekekekeke

Now...picture story time, ok.

Inti biasa-biasa aje...but ada ler sekwet wesepi sikit...hehehe
Sape nak tau kena sms I @ 019-444444..tekan tekan tak dapat...hiks ;p

 Sumpah, tak cantik! grrrrrr
Anyway, rasa tetap sama...rasa karipap pusing! Haha!

Gambar ni blur macam tuannya....sebab MyC yang ambil.
Budak ni main snap jer tak adjust2 dah...pergh

Oh, kuciwannye...karipap ini not flaky seperti yang kuharapkan!
So, uols...jangan jadi macam I tau.. :'(

Jangan tak tau...dari berdiri rock n roll kat meja, terus pindah duduk bawah pulak.
Dah tinggal peng-last last tu, hah, hambik ko, dapat karipaps gedabak!

Guess what for breakfast?

Al-kisah dihujung pertemuan (..eee....geli geliman!) selamat membuat kuripeps! Until the next 'November Project', insyaAllah...sekarang ni, 'apa pun cannot'!

Lots of love,

Lili d'emily <3<3<3

Hopeless Romantic!

When hubby decided to work from home the whole of last week, I felt he has violated my rights of having the idea that, come Monday, I get the house all to myself!! There is no way, a man working in my house, on a week day, is going to mess up with my already painted picture. A picture so perfectly drawn when a new day arrives. In my mind, at least...hehe! I know, I am weird. And it's getting weirder by the day.

The thing is, I don't get it myself sometimes. Okay...all the time...hehehe! How come when he is around, I am not a good home-maker? When he's around, I tend to slack on my chores. When he's around my schedules goes crazy. And then.... I. just. become.LAZY.
Imagine, me, Lili...not cooking. Can you just imagine that? Now, now...don't go too far, you guys .
I straighten the house everyday, alright. I do the laundry every other day too. I do everything BUT...

Breakfast alone...when he's sleeping in for another couple of hours.
The more reasons, he should be at the office...

A lunch fit for rabbits...but who cares when the laziness
are here to stay until you-know-who goes back to work!

..what better way to idle the lunch hours than
to have it whilst watching a movie...

No table to set...but I'm watching you from where I eat...
you'd better be working.

Take-outs for dinner...you asked for it...!

This is my way of telling him... "Go to work in the morning and let me miss you all day..."
So, how's that for a hopeless romantic?:D
