"Hope is ....."

(Pic: by courtesy of Yong: taken at her home in Proton City, Tg. Malim, Perak)

Hope is the thing with feathers

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops...at all

And sweetest...in the gale...is heard
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm

I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest sea
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb...of me.

Al-kisah...

*I hope CS will not flip out at this title! Tumpang lalu, CS...pinjam jap tajuk tu... ;-D

Asal Monday jer, kelam kabut....asal Monday jer, sibuk mengalahkan orang bekerja. Eheh, tapi bila pikirkan balik, kita pun bekerja jugak! La ni, baru dapat duduk... check fb dulu pastu baru masuk blog. Sunyi.  Hehe!

Pagi tadi, macam biasa pergi mengaji, walaupun dapat dengar jer orang lain baca. Enam orang ni pun dah havoc. Ustazah asyik gelak sipu-sipu bila my friend sorang ni...yang bila bercakap ke, baca quran ke, suaranya tak perlu microphone, lepas tu kalau dia silap ke, tak tahu mana nak wakaf ke...dia main langgar jer! Siap chop-chop dengan ustazah. Bab hari ni, kita orang kena tarik nafas panjang-panjang bila nak baca awal surah (mad lazim harfi). Maklum ler kalau surah Maryam jer, awal surah ada tiga huruf enam harakat dan dua huruf dua harakat. Shima brake dan shift gear kat huruf 'ain sambil dengung! Memang sakit perut tahan gelak, tengok kawanku yang kelakor ni! Aduh, Shima, Shima...ada-ada jer dia...

Sejak sekolah cuti seminggu tu, mana pun akak tak pergi. Asyik terperuk kat rumah. Mysarah kena sekolah walaupun dalam cuti. Dia ni sibuk berkelab dengan Young Enterprise (YE). Masa students lain sat for their exams, she and her group had to represent the school for apa ntah, kat USM. Kekdahnya, Monday tu, kena sit lah for the two papers...Add Math and Math. Hah, hambik ko...hantuk kapla ke meja! Asyik komplen susah jer memanjang... dari sekolah rendah ke sekolah menengah!

Tuition classes pun masih on cuti-cuti tu. Mana nak bergerak akak ni? Ada masa tu, jadi malas sangat, sampai dua hari enjin kereta tak panaskan. Makan ler apa aje yang ada dalam fridge. Masak, tetap masak...
Lepas tu, bila boring, telefon Ipoh...bual ler dengan budak yang baru berkhatan tu...berjam-jam... hehe!

Nak kata tak keluar pun tak juga. Ada wedding, pergi ler. Lepas tu tak tau nak balik-balik, asyik makannnn jer tak renti. Hah, ni lagi satu problem... perut ni cepat benor lapar. Baru aja lunch, dah lapor... Nanti kita cerita bab tu di lain masa.

Okay lah... penat ni...lepas mengaji tadi pergi Seberang Jaya. Dah selesai kerja, tengok jam dah dekat dua belas setengah, nampak gayanya beli jer lauk. Nak masuk kereta baru perasan, kereta kotor ya amat. Singgah pergi cuci. Masa menunggu tu, ada ke sorang apek ni dengan selamba usung biawak hidup-hidup, pastu mai acah-acah kat akak...Dah ler menjerit tak pepasal kat tempat cuci kereta. From the cuci kereta man, I learned that apek tu tak betul. Hish...patut ler! Melatah ler jugak tadi tersebut binatang haram yang lain pulak... berderet gamaknya keluar dari kandang!  Adeh...malunya!

... hmm.. got to go now, nak jemput MyC kat sekolah pukul 4pm nanti. Lepas tu nak jumpa orang Jeddah yang baru sampai semalam...ada abaya katanya untuk akak!

Yong's Photography

In my previous entry of being tagged, whatever, I find it helps in a way, writing a story based on photos featured.
Browsing through my photo folders just now, I think I'll write about my niece, Wan Zaleha...

Wan Zaleha or Yong to all of us, is an avid photographer. Along with her boyfriend, she is always on the move taking pictures of landscapes and interesting people from all walks of life. She works in a giant telco on weekdays and taking up jobs as wedding photographer on weekends.

As I'm devoid of ideas right now, and hate to see my blog so sunyi sepi...hehe...I'm featuring some of Yong's and her boyfriend's magnificent work.

All pictures above and below were taken at the beach fronting Hard Rock Hotel, Penang.

Enjoy the pictures and have a nice week, y'all! :)

p/s: Ateh loves you, Yong..and Ateh always love the sea!

I've Been Tagged

Alahai...ada main tag tag ke ni? Selalu baca jer bloggers mengetag, kali ni akaq pulak di tag. Hai laaa...Cik Somuffins kita ni! I'm afraid I don't have much to offer, but I'll try. Kalau rasa borrriiiinnngg, lekas-lekas ler pergi blog lain ek!

1. Go to your photo files… select the 8th photo folder
2. Select the 8th photo in that folder
3. Post that photo along with the story behind it
4. Then challenge 8 blogging friends to do the same
So, this is the 8th photo in my folder:

Sorry, gambar tak berapa clear...hehe...! I've been calling a niece to send me the better shot of this picture but her line is either busy or she didn't get my messages.

Now the tough part of telling the story behind this picture.

The picture above is a landscape pond at my mother's house in Ipoh. My elder brother, abang Bad, had it built for my mother after the demise of our beloved father. He wanted our mother to spend her lonely hours of the day at the pond feeding the fishes, mostly koi.

Whenever I'm back home, I spend Sunday mornings loitering the garden and ended up at this pond with my favourite niece, Khairina. While waiting for breakfast, that is usually bought by my sister at the Kledang Pasar Tani, I would talk, play, laugh and mimicking the birds with Khairina. It's the best time of day to be goofing around and being a little girl all over again because, when breakfast is over, I'd be planning and starting lunch for the whole lot.

There you go! I told ya, there's nothing much to relate.

Hmm...lemme see...who are the eight people I shall tag....

1. Mr Oldstock
2. Pakmat Fahmy
3. As of 3yearshousewife
4. Lemongrass aka LG
5. Cik Mah of akak-akak
6. AnneAziz
7. Ja
8.Can I tag you oso, CS? Can ah? Then CS it is!

Flush With Fever...

Alamak! I didn't know my freshly written posting this morning, made it on my fellow bloggers' blog-roll! It was by a few minutes interval when I realised it was incomplete and decided to save it into my draft. Hence the lost posting for the day. And it has been hours when I had it only for two minutes on my blog! Ni nak kasi hilang title tu, akaq terpaksa come out with this silly entry...
It has become quite a habit too of posting something and withdrawing it almost instantly. Hubby says I'm so fickle-minded. So, there is no need to be alarm. Is just that the title was so bold at friends' blog-roll that I cringe and, feel like rolling and curling myself up like an armadillo! Alas, I'm only a crab...a hermit crab!

So, back into my shell. I'm grounding myself.

Laughters For Fears

Five years ago, I was robbed in broad day-light, in my own house. I have put behind the nasty incident and shall not delve into the issue. But I know, people get curious if you told a story half-way. In this context, it is not even half-way through!

The fact that you're being robbed with knife held against your throat was no joke. I was badly traumatized after that. It took me at least six months to adjust myself to being 'normal' again. Not that I've gone crazy, mind you!  I was unharmed and the amount taken from me was minimal. Talk about small-time thief in a drug addict...sheeshh!

Looking back, I thought what I went through suddenly become hilarious. I don't know how many of you will find my escapades hilarious because, I for one can't help laughing every time I reflect upon some of my foolish acts during and after the incident!

-During the robbery, the thief instructed my daughter to surrender whatever cash, jeweleries and handphones there were. Luckily, MyC only managed some cash in my purse. I took out whatever amount I had and gave it to him. It so happened I only had a few hundred ringgit in my purse. Handing over the cash, I APOLOGIZED profusely to the penyangak for what little I had! MyC even handed him two old handphones. Perhaps, seeing the cash in hundred bills was something big for him and enough to obtain his drugs supply, he quickly grabbed the money and took off there and then.

- When the robber first struck me, he was waving his knife in the air so dangerously. At that point, I was already saying my prayers...mengucap panjang akaq...istighfar...dan teringat kat atas dapur ada kuah durian nak makan dengan roti jala for tea that day!

- When the police came to confirm my report, the investigating officer interviewed MyC who had a good looked at the thief. I didn't know whether to laugh or control a much louder laughter, when MyC described the thief who ended up looking like the officer! - "ya tuan...tinggi macam tuan...kulit macam tuan.... rambut pun lebih kurang macam tuan!" Why, she was only eleven then! The other detectives started to laugh too!

The trauma did not end easily though. What the incident did me was sickening at times. I had a faint heart after that. Sounds, and strangers - even familiar faces I had seen before, drew suspicion in my judgement. I made detours at innocent people walking my way. I jumped at the slightest sound I hear - squealing at the ringing of my mobile and answering to my name being called with shrilling screams! I was practically terrified with everything, everyone and even myself.

But after these two episodes below that I encountered, I was glad I gathered my confidence back...

- Parking my car at the post office one day, I noticed four men with long hair tied back in pony tails and wearing denim jackets and jeans making their exit from the post office. I made a mental assumption of the post office being robbed and they were about to make a getaway.  I stayed put in my car and told a friend who was constantly accompanying me after my ordeal, to wait for the men to leave first. I was relieved when they left but suddenly freaked out when they stopped their car right behind mine. One of them got out of the car and I was very sure they were going to strike another heist. I trembled like mad!
But it turned out that he was helping a blind man who emerged from God-knows-where, to lead him to a nearby bus stop!! I looked at my friend, and we both laughed till we cried!

-Another ridiculously suspense moment came when one morning, after sending MyC to school, I stopped to buy some greens at my neighbourhood market. I saw a man on a motorcycle mumbling something to nobody and he really scared me. He looked like he was scolding someone but I saw no one. I could hear my heart beating at a crazy rate. I froze in my car and thinking of driving away, when down came this little boy from the passenger seat of his motorcycle. Dia dok marah anak dia yang nangis tak nak pergi sekolah rupanya!

I 'd like to say I'm alright now...but I'd be wary about strangers. And I watch my back every time I leave home. Oh not really...even at home! Sometimes fear becomes habit ... I still jump when the phone rings... ;-D
